Holistic Yoga is a deliciously enjoyable exploration of yoga and movement from a therapeutic perspective. This retreat is designed to ease away aches, pains, stresses and strains, leaving you feeling calm, balanced and revitalised.
You’ll move a little slower than some yoga styles, yet you’ll experience a meditative flow to the classes. Detailed instruction is given to participants, suited to their individual needs. This is the kind of yoga retreat where you can bring along a parent, a partner or a friend (who may have less experience of yoga) knowing that they’ll enjoy the experience as much as you do.
Through exploring the yoga practises you’ll discover how to tune into and interpret your body’s sensory feedback, your breath and the quality of your mind and emotions. Watching how you respond to the poses on all these levels brings a greater understanding. You’ll learn how you can manage stress, improve your posture and increase your sense of health and wellbeing.
The weekend is suitable for everyone including people working with general aches and pains, long standing injuries, stiffness, hyper-mobility and general stress. Experienced practitioners of yoga will appreciate the guidance on how to finely tune the balance of yin (release and receptivity) and yang (muscular engagement and stability) within each posture.
